Dr. Niko Detra is a licensed Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine based in San Diego. She is double board certified, holding both California state licensure and national board certification, reflecting advanced training and adherence to rigorous professional standards.
At her Hillcrest clinic, Dr. Niko offers gentle, integrative care rooted in traditional acupuncture and herbal medicine, while also incorporating select modern techniques when appropriate. Her approach focuses on supporting the body’s natural capacity to regulate, adapt, and heal, meeting each patient where they are.
In addition to her classical training, Dr. Niko is trained in AcuNova, a modern acupuncture system used to support patients with degenerative eye conditions, including macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, Stargardt’s disease, and diabetic retinopathy.
